2023 National Tree Day planting project

National Tree Day 2023 was marked with a team of hardy Cathedral Landcare members working together to plant out an area of Andrews Creek that had been significantly affected by heavy rain over the 2023 winter. A range of gums, acacias and leptospermums were planted with the aim of shoring up the strength of the river banks. Photos to follow!

2022 National Tree Day planting project

In 2022, this project took place at a property on Swamp Creek Road where 11 Landcare group members spent a chilly July morning planting over 700 reeds, grasses and ground cover plants as well as more than 100 trees and shrubs.
The aim of the project was to increase the biodiversity of plant and animal life on the property as well as to slow the flow of water from the top of the property to the bottom.

2018 - 2022 Andrews Creek upgrade

This project was aimed at clearing Andrews Creek of a significant area of weed which was negatively impacting both the flow of the creek and the ability of more desirable species to populate the banks.
It took place in two stages with the first focussing on clearing the weeds and the second focussed on the introduction of new, desirable species.
The outcome of the project has been a transformation of the area with an observable increase in biodiversity, access and soil health.
